John 19:10–11 (ESV) 10 So Pilate said to him, “You will not speak to me? Do you not know that I have authority to release you and authority to crucify you?” 11 Jesus answered him, “You could have no authority over me at all unless it had been given you from above.”

Jesus crucified! This whole scene seems to be absolutely demonic. We all should read Chapter 19 to understand the outrageous gruesome punishment poured out on the one

person in all of human history who didn’t do a single thing wrong. Even his enemies couldn’t find him guilty of any wrongdoing. Everyone here should watch Mel Gibson’s 2004 movie, “The Passion of the Christ”. He does a humanly good job in giving a historically correct and Biblically accurate account of Jesus’ crucifixion. It is horrifying! It is hard to comprehend, but it is the absolute truth! Nothing could be more horrible than God the Father watch HIS Son being ridiculed, abused, tortured, and suffer a horrific slow painful death. In eternity past and future, nothing could be worse.  This morning I am not going to go over all the gruesome details, but I want to point out a couple interesting lessons

revealed in this chapter. First of all, Lesson #1, Brothers and Sisters in Christ, God has HIS hands wrapped around everything that is happening in this world.
